Prefession Training “Power of Presence” (27-29th June & 6-10th August 2025)

Mindfulness and compassion have been practiced in a number of contemplative traditions for more than 2,000 years. Psychotherapy has recently discovered the power of these practices, which have been scrutinized by researchers in neuroscience and applied in a variety of creative ways.  This program is specifically designed to develop inner presence as a psychotherapist, mindfulness teachers etc and teach specific skills and interventions to deepen and broaden the therapeutic encounter. The skills developed include strengthening moment-to-moment awareness, developing therapeutic presence, empathy, deep listening, mindful inquiry, and compassion.  This is a unique online & in-person course filled with practical meditative and mindfulness exercises and tools that will cultivate presence deeply into your clinical work and life.

Through the training spread over two modules, this program will inform and enhance your practice in all four key areas of therapeutic presence:

  • Being grounded in a healthy sense of self
  • Being immersed in what is poignant in the moment
  • Expanding awareness
  • Being with and for clients in the service of healing

Structure of the program

Module 1: Essential Mindfulness and Compassion Skills

It provides a container in which to explore mindfulness-based psychotherapy with certified mindfulness teacher. The teaching is practical and experiental, focusing on the establishing and developing a mindfulness practice that is relevant to our lives and our work with other, particularly in the delivery of accurate empathy and therapeutic presence in psychotherapeutic environment. There will be frequent mindfulness meditation sessions in combination with dyadic or small group discussion relevant for both work and personal life.

Module 2: Deep Listening and mindful inquiry

This module first focuses on cultivating the ability to truly listen and be fully present with another person—skills essential in therapeutic relationships. Grounded in formal mindfulness practice, it explores how this inner awareness can be brought into interpersonal connection. Through experiential exercises, participants will develop presence, attunement, and synchronicity in their interactions, while gaining a more advanced understanding of how mindfulness supports relational depth.
On top of that, latter half of the module emphasizes the relational nature of mindfulness and its application in both group and one-on-one settings. Mindful inquiry as a therapeutic skill centers on learning through direct experience in the present moment, as it arises through mindfulness practice. The course extends the qualities of silent meditation—calm, concentration, and insight—into relational and dialogic space. Participants will explore and refine these qualities within a meditative interpersonal context, not by adding new techniques, but by drawing forth innate human capacities through authentic dialogue and presence.

The current resort hoshihana was born with the donation of the cottage so that the visitors can have more fun. The unique cottages are named by the backers who donated each cottage.

Ban Rom Sai was established in Chiangmai in 1999 as a living facility for orphans with mother-to-child transmission of HIV. However now it also supports 30 children who have been orphaned for various reasons and who cannot live with their parents. See here for details.
